how do I apply for health care?
At Health centres receptions, the nurse assesses the need for treatment either by phone or at the reception.
The patient receives guidance and counseling and, if necessary, is directed to:
- to the doctor's office
- to the nurse's office
- to the public health nurse's office
- for a remote doctor's appointment
- to the physical therapist's direct reception
Call instructions
A callback system is in use, which you can call Mon-Thurs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Listen to the recording from the phone and follow the instructions given. The nurse will call you back the same day from an unknown number. You don't have to call the nurse several times because your call information is saved in the system. Public health nurses call back during three working days.
First, select the health center you want to do business with.
Next, select the reason for the transaction:
1 Appointment and assessment of the need for care (nurses)
2 Treatment of long-term illnesses (public health nurses)
3 Renewing prescriptions (health center assistants)
4 Canceling an appointment (in use only in Kajaani and Vuolijoki)

Exceptions:
The day before a public holiday, 23rd December and the day before Midsummer Eve: 8-15
