Services for Families
Family Centers offer local services in the municipalities. The Family Center's services include home service and supporting families with children, family counseling, school psychologist service and child protection. Family Centers work in cooperation with municipalities, organizations, parishes and families. The family center is open to all families with children and it offers an open meeting point when needed.

The aim of maternity counseling is to secure the health and well-being of the pregnant woman and the fetus, to promote the health and well-being of the future parents and the entire family, and the health and safety of the future child's development environment. The goal is also to promote public health and prevent disorders during pregnancy. At the maternity clinic, problems and disorders during pregnancy are identified as early as possible and the necessary treatment, help and support are arranged without delay. Maternity counseling centers participate in narrowing health differences and preventing marginalization by means of, among other things, early targeted support.
The mission of the maternity counseling center is, for example, organizes periodic health checks and home visits in accordance with the recommendations, extensive health check-up of the family expecting a child, and multi-professional family coaching. In addition, the counseling center must support families, identify potential disorders and their risk factors early on, and cooperate with other actors.
The mission of the Child care clinic is to promote the health and well-being of children under school age and their families. Children's counseling
- monitors and promotes the child's physical, psychological, and social growth and development
- supports parents in safe, child-oriented upbringing and good care of the child
- supports family relationships
The counseling aims to detect the special support needs of families with children as early as possible and organize appropriate support and assistance.
Children receive the vaccinations included in the vaccination program at the counseling center.
Services (incl. nurse and doctor appointments) are free for municipal residents. Co-operation is carried out with various actors and voluntary organizations.
